In this brief report, a few Tucson activists get together to celebrate the end of the Bush administration and Michael Chertoff's tenure as Secretary of Homeland Security. As head of DHS Chertoff used his powers granted to him by Section 102 of the Real ID Act to waive dozens of federal laws in order to build new sections of border fence, ignoring environmental, cultural, economic, and political consequences.

This segment is the first of a series presenting the thoughts and hopes of communities along the U.S./Mexico border as power changes hands in Washington.
